"More than just fiction, Shawn Hopkins' novel is a thought-provoking, frighteningly plausible glimpse at our nation's future. Its riveting plot twists, its relentless action, and Hopkins' penchant for challenging suppositions some of us have come to take for granted (such as the cozy alliance between evangelical Christianity and the political right), make this story hard to put down. For all the research that went into this work and its wealth of information, for its endearing characters and its edge-of- your-seat tempo, I found Even The Elect eminently entertaining, and recommend it wholeheartedly."

This novel was canceled with the publisher when they set the retail price at 34.95 for a paperback and 44.95 for a hardback. It has since been reworked into the more affordable, The Solomon Key (though you can occasionally find cheap copies on eBay...)

Though careful to avoid the all-seeing eye of the surveillance state and the civil war that threatens to erupt around him, he finds himself in possession of a mysterious artifact that the world's most elite forces are looking for. Not understanding how this artifact could be of any importance to the socio-political climate that is building, Scott wants nothing other than to stay off the grid. But things get out of hand quickly as he discovers that he has become a marked man for a second time. It is then, through a few mysterious characters, that he learns just what the object is - the key to fulfilling an ancient agenda dating back to the very fall of mankind. And when his former employers discover his true identity, they pull out of his past the only thing he ever held dear, using it as a pawn to draw him in. With billions of innocent people trapped in the crosshairs of a diabolical plan to usher in a false Christ, the world is in a desperate state and ripe for deception. But Matthew Scott stands in the way - retribution for his past sins, and the world itself, hanging in the balance. |
